Today, Bumbly and I made some Easter nests. This is a fab activity for
the kids. Apart from melting the chocolate (which is easily done under
supervision) this is a no cook activity.
We took 200g of milk chocolate and melted it in a bowl over boiling water (a bain marie). Once the chocolate was melted and cooled, we stirred in cornflakes until we had a lovely ratio of cornflakes to chocolate. We put a spoonful of mixture in the bottom of the cases then built up the sides a little to create a nest shape. For our eggs in the nest we had some mini, mini eggs. then we left them to cool. And now the best part... Licking out the bowl!
Bumbly was a fab little helper most of the time. Of course she had to taste a lot along the way...

Using shredded wheat makes a very good variation. The pieces broken up look like the twigs in a nest. Very realistic!
